There’s something soothing about grunt

There’s something soothing about grunt work.

In a small shop (as in three people supporting about 90) everone does everything. There are no menials to do stuff like upgrade RAM or pull hard drives. It’s nice once in a while to just hide the in equipment room and pull hard drives (prep for donation) for a couple hours. By the end I’m dirty and bleeding from a couple of nicks, but satisfied. The whine of the electric screwdriver has a meditative quality.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get a bandaid and go back to it.
