Presidents’ Weekend Marathon 9:The Shipping News

I’m thinking I shouldn’t have seen another film after Monster’s Ball. Anything else seems pale by comparison.

The Shipping News is nicely done: pretty pictures, good characters. It’s a very gentle film. It’s also predictable and slightly–very slightly–overdone. Note to filmmakers everywhere: please dispense with the summation narration. Just stop. You’re hurting me, and I can’t be the only one.

I’m a little tired, so I’m sure I’m not doing this film justice. Let me just say that it’s a very good renter for a cold night.

WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I got a Valentine! It so totally brightened my day yesterday. THANKYOU. 🙂

Hmmm. To-day I watched Evolution for the second time. Now…I know…it was crude, not a little chauvinistic, and ultimately over all extremely stupid…

But if I have to be honest:

I think I was the only person in the full theater that not only was laughing the ENTIRE TIME, but was laughing herself to tears. That movie is GREAT.

So now I’m going to go watch it again. Hehehe. 🙂

Thankyou again oh-so-much for the Valentine! *squee* *insert dances of joy here, please*

    Hi Zoe!

I liked Evolution too. It was cute, if a little gross at times. How can a movie that includes Duchovny’s butt be wrong?
