Though, to be fair, Regal has started keeping the ads to “The 20”, where they are easily skipped–a vast improvement over mixing them in with the previews.

    No kidding… This is why I prefer to watch my movies at home where the only ads I am subjected to are the subtle (or not) product placements.

    Or I’ll watch them at The Laurelhurst where there are cheap tickets, good pizza, beer, no ads, and a minimal number of previews. That wins out over the mega-cinemas any day.

    The last couple of times I’ve been to see a first run movie in the theater I’ve found myself getting horribly upset not only at the amount of advertising, but the general lack of intelligence behind it. I don’t want to sit for ten minutes and watch bubble-gum-esque ads for TV shows I’ll never watch and albums I would never buy.
