That crazy thing I mentioned yesterday

It isn’t the world’s fanciest guitar, but it sounds nice, and the body fits me. I shall have to get used to a classical fret board, which is wider than the country I learned on, but I prefer the sound and my fingers prefer the nylon strings. The action is very good, and the instrument is solidly built. It has been a long time since I played. Whether I do anything with it remains to be seen.

I have a guitar I bought in Spain – in Madrid actually – when I was on tour there in 1985 or 6. I can only play the same 6 songs I have always played and I dont play it often but I keep it in the lounge room so I can see it when I walk by. Every now and then I get it out and play it and boy it feels good. It is not just the clear beautiful sounds of the strings (not my playing but the beauty and the craftmanship of the guitar) it is also the vibrations of the sound that seems to relax and transport me far, better than a massage because it is not just a physical journey but always one of the spirit as well.

    Happy playing Cat!

I haven’t had a chance to re-string and sit down with it yet, but your comment brought back memories. For many years, my guitar was my best friend, and we spent many hours together, talking about how miserable we were. 😉 I hope if I write again, my songs will be happier. Or at least more interesting. Lordy, I wrote some awful crap.
